Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using the Fuji Temp website (fujitemp.com), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the site. It's that simple. We don't have a "I agree" checkbox because this is a static website and we don't collect login information, but using the site constitutes acceptance of these terms.

What We Are

Fuji Temp is an editorial website that publishes outdoor travel content about the Fuji Five Lakes region in Japan. We are a media company. We write articles, take photos, and sell a downloadable camping guide PDF. That's the extent of our business.

What We Are Not

This section is important, so we're being explicit. Fuji Temp is not a travel agency. We do not book flights, hotels, campsites, onsen visits, or any other travel services. We are not a mountain guide service. None of our writers or contributors are certified mountain guides, and we do not offer guided climbing, hiking, or camping services. We are not a tour operator. We do not organize group trips, retreats, or expeditions.

If you need a travel agent, find a licensed one. If you need a mountain guide, hire a certified guide through the appropriate Japanese authorities. Our content is informational only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.

Content Is Informational Only

All content on this website — articles, guides, recommendations, pricing information, facility descriptions, and travel advice — is provided for general informational purposes only. We write from personal experience, and we strive for accuracy, but things change. Bus schedules shift. Campground prices increase. Onsen policies evolve. Facilities close or renovate. The information on this site may not reflect the current reality when you visit.

We update content when we become aware of changes, and we maintain an updates page to track significant corrections. But we are three people with day jobs, not a full-time editorial team with fact-checkers. Before making travel decisions based on our content, verify critical information (bus schedules, campground availability, prices, opening hours) independently through official sources.

No Liability for Your Outdoor Decisions

This is the part where our lawyer made us be very clear. Outdoor activities — camping, hiking, climbing, swimming, hot spring bathing — carry inherent risks. Weather changes. Trails erode. Equipment fails. People get lost, injured, or worse. You are solely responsible for your own safety and the safety of anyone traveling with you.

Fuji Temp Media LLC, its writers, contributors, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or inconvenience that results from your use of the information on this website. This includes but is not limited to: injuries sustained while hiking or climbing, illness or injury at onsen facilities, equipment failure at campgrounds, adverse weather conditions, transportation delays or failures, financial losses, or any other harm arising from your travel decisions.

We say this not to scare you but because it's true: the outdoors is unpredictable. A trail we describe as "easy" might feel difficult in bad weather. A campground we recommend as "quiet" might be hosting a school group the weekend you visit. A bus schedule we verified in March might change by July. You are the one making decisions in real time, and you bear the responsibility for those decisions.

Mountain Climbing Disclaimer

Climbing Mount Fuji is a serious undertaking that involves significant risks including altitude sickness, extreme weather, physical injury, and death. Our climbing articles describe our personal experiences and general information about the climb. They do not constitute mountaineering instruction or safety training.

If you choose to climb Mount Fuji, you do so at your own risk. You should assess your own physical fitness, consult with a medical professional if you have health concerns, obtain appropriate safety equipment, check official weather and trail conditions before departing, and be prepared to turn back if conditions deteriorate. The mountain will be there next year. You need to be too.
